First victory since becoming a dad

While driving the #00 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, Custer has managed to register two victories in 2024 but none since Pocono which was held in July. So, that means that Friday's victory for Custer was his first after becoming a dad.

The couple was blessed with Callahan Brian on 1st August 2024. Three days after his birth, Kari broke the news on her Instagram and shared an image whose caption read, "Callahan Brian Custer. You are so loved."

Custer managed to lead three times for 104 laps in Friday's event. He was able to keep the likes of Sheldon Creed at bay, who registered his 13th career second-place finish in the Xfinity Series.

Chandler Smith claimed the third spot followed by Jesse Love, who finished fourth. Ryan Truex Jr. had to be satisfied with a fifth-place finish. The 15-time most popular driver of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr., could only manage to finish seventh.

The final race of the Xfinity Series regular season began with Bristol. Cole Custer will now begin the playoffs with a 21-point gap over the cut-line and is firmly placed second in the standings. It is Justin Allgaier who will begin the playoffs from the top spot.
