Despite another weekend where only Max Verstappen managed to score points, Red Bull retained their third-place position.

McLaren delivered a masterclass at the Shanghai International Circuit, securing a commanding one-two finish at the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix. This dominant performance allowed McLaren to extend their lead in the constructors' standings, creating a 25-point gap over Mercedes, who remain in second place. George Russell’s consistent form ensured another podium finish for Mercedes, helping them hold onto their position in the championship.

Red Bull Holds onto Third Place

Despite another one of those weekends along which only Max Verstappen scored points for Red Bull, the team remained in third place. Verstappen's 12 points from the race also ensured the Red Bulls remained ahead of Ferrari, whose fortunes changed drastically after the post-race investigation.

Ferrari's Misery Continues: 18 Points Penalty
At the Chinese Grand Prix, Ferrari gathered 18 points in total owing to the stellar performances put forth by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. However, FIA stewards disqualified both drivers after the said race because Leclerc's car was found to be underweight and Hamilton broke the regulation limit regarding floor skid wear. Hence, this disqualification rendered Ferrari with no points accumulated and dropped them to the fifth with Williams at par with 17.

Haas Takes the Spoils While Racing Bulls Slip Downwards
Haas, therefore, managed to keep above the Racing Bulls in the standings with both Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman finishing in the points. This brought Haas into new territory in its standings, as they were ranked sixth, holding at 14 points. While the Racing Bulls did well to qualify, they could do absolutely nothing with their advantage due to poor strategy decisions, leaving them with just 3 points and forcing them to take ninth place.
