A mistake from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc on lap 63 allowed Norris to secure second place, narrowing his deficit to Verstappen from 57 points to 47.
In the constructors' championship, Ferrari’s one-two finish, with Carlos Sainz claiming victory, has propelled them to second place. Leclerc also earned an additional point for the fastest lap on the final lap, leaving Ferrari 29 points behind McLaren.
Reigning champions Red Bull have slipped to 54 points behind McLaren and now trail Ferrari by 27 points.
