The 2024 Formula 1 season concluded with a dramatic finish at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, where the battle for the Constructors’ Championship intensified in the final race. The event saw several thrilling moments, unexpected incidents, and emotional farewells as the season came to a close.

Lando Norris started the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from the front, but the race quickly took a dramatic turn when Max Verstappen collided with Oscar Piastri. Verstappen attempted to make a move for second position, but ended up tagging Piastri’s rear tire, causing both cars to spin off. As a result, Verstappen received a 10-second penalty for the incident, while Piastri also faced a penalty for a separate clash with Franco Colapinto.

Further back in the pack, there was contact between Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, which forced Perez out of the race. Meanwhile, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc made an impressive surge from 19th to 8th place within the opening lap, as the Scuderia aimed to close a 21-point gap to McLaren in the Constructors’ standings.

With Norris's win, McLaren secured their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998, marking a major milestone in the team's history. Ferrari's Sainz and Leclerc rounded out the podium, as the lights at Yas Marina illuminated the end of an unforgettable season.
