As 2024 ended and the celebrations started, there was a hype and anticipation building on the opening of the 2025 season for F1. With updates in the driver's lineup and new rules in place, the upcoming season promises to be a thrilling one. Legends like Sergio Perez and Daniel Ricciardo leaving their teams and others like Lewis Hamilton joining new teams have fans excited for a new F1 season.
As anticipation builds for the upcoming Formula One season, fans have already begun speculating and sharing their thoughts on who will claim the next World Championship. Will Max Verstappen secure his fifth consecutive title, or will Lewis Hamilton break the record with an eighth championship? Or perhaps a new contender could shock the world? Here's what fans had to say.
A prediction to watch out for
It started with Formula 1 sharing a clip asking, 'Who will be drivers' champion in 2025?' on their X handle (formerly Twitter) and sharing a list of the drivers arranged in alphabetical order. However, it seems some fans might have mistaken the post and understood that Formula 1 has predicted the winner of the 2025 season.Ā
Reacting to the post, a fan expressed that Formula 1 has made a mistake putting Verstappen at the end of the list and wrote:
"LoL, they put Verstappen on bottom, only will be more funny when he wins first race with +20 places up."
One other fan predicted:
"The guy you put last based on alphabetical order will be first based on pure driving skills!"
Another fan took a dig at Aston Martin prodigy Lance Stroll and his father Lawrence Stroll and stated that the latter will be buying the world championship trophy for his son. The fan commented:
"Lance Stroll will be champion [his dad will buy him the trophy since he can't win it by himself]."
"Going be close next year in very tight grid. But can see Max Verstappen wining it overall," tweeted a fan.
The 2025 Formula One World Championship and the 2025 Formula One Constructor's Championship are set to commence on March 14, where Melbourne will be hosting the first thriller of the season.
