Lando Norris won the Sprint F1 race.

Yuki Tsunoda has officially moved into the points-paying positions following the conclusion of the Miami Grand Prix Sprint race. The Racing Bulls driver was promoted after Oliver Bearman of Haas received a five-second penalty for an unsafe pit lane release.

Bearman's Penalty Alters Final Order

Bearman had originally crossed the finish line in eighth place, but the stewards deemed his team guilty of an unsafe release during the wet-weather sprint. The resulting time penalty dropped him out of the top ten, handing Tsunoda the final point-scoring spot in P8.

Multiple other drivers, including Liam Lawson and Alexander Albon—who both finished within the top seven—remain under post-race investigation, which could lead to further adjustments in the results.

Qualifying Session Delayed After Wet Sprint Drama

Due to the weather-induced delay in the sprint race, Formula 1 officials confirmed that qualifying for the Miami Grand Prix is to start 15 minutes later than initially planned.

Originally scheduled for 16:00 hrs local time, the session will now begin at 16:15 hrs because of heavy rains creating dangerous levels of spray and inadequate visibility. Charles Leclerc from Ferrari was one of the unfortunate candidates as he crashed on his way to the grid and did not participate in the sprint after that.

Dry Conditions Expected for Qualifying

With the drying trend of track conditions observed during the sprint, the expectation is that the qualifying will also be dry. That should lead to some fierce competition, especially from the young Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, who made quite an impression with his one-lap pace and would be going for another pole position.
