Australia have hosted the Olympics games twice, first in Melbourne in 1956, making it the first nation outside of North America or Europe to do so. They hosted the Games again in 2000, this time in Sydney. In 2028, Brisbane will become the third Australian city to host the Summer Games.
Sweden - 2 times
Sweden, as co-hosts of the 1956 Summer Games for the equestrian events, have hosted the Games twice. Before co-hosting with Australia, Sweden hosted the 1912 edition in Stockholm, marking the fifth-ever modern version of the Games.
France - 2 times
Paris hosted the Olympic Games in 1900 and 1924. Now, after a gap of 100 years, Paris is set to host the Games once again in 2024.
Greece - 2 times
Greece have hosted the Olympics on two occasions, in 1896 and 2004. Both the inaugural and the 2004 Summer Games took place in Athens.
Japan - 2 times
In 1964, Japan made history by becoming the first Asian nation to host the Summer Olympic Games. The most recent edition, held in Tokyo in 2020, further solidified Japan's position among the countries that have hosted the mega event multiple times.

The United Kingdom stand in the second position on the list. It has hosted the Summer Olympics three times.
