Arjun Babuta's astonishing exhibition saw him almost secure an Olympic medal in the final of the Men's 10m Air Rifle event in the ongoing edition of the Paris Olympics 2024. The 25-year-old finished in the top three for most of the competition in the final, but in the elimination rounds, he dropped to the fourth spot. Following the unfortunate loss, India's first individual gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra penned down an emotional message to console the young shooter.

Babuta headed into the final two elimination series tied with Croatia’s Miran Maricicat the score of 167.8 focus with Swedish shooter Victor Lindgren followed by 0.1 focus however offered the benefit in the last two rounds of the end shootout. With a score of 252.2, Lihao Sheng of China broke the Olympic Record and won the gold medal.
India’s 10m Air Pistol Mixed team of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualified for the bronze medal match after finishing third in the qualifications with 580-20x points. The team will play against the Korean sets of Goodness Ye Jin and Lee Wonho on Tuesday.
