Injuries are unfortunately common in the world of WWE, but some injuries carry consequences that could be life-changing. One such example is former WWE Champion Big E, who has been sidelined since March 2022 due to a severe neck injury that threatened his career. While he continues to be a part of WWE in a non-wrestling role, his absence from the ring is deeply felt, as he remains one of the most beloved figures in the company. Despite undergoing surgery, Big E has not yet been medically cleared to return, and he has not ruled out the possibility that his in-ring career may be over.

Big E Considers a Possible Retirement

Big E recently penned a heartfelt article in The Players Tribune, where he shared reflections on his journey and current state. In the piece, he acknowledged that although his wrestling career may be over, he has come to terms with the situation. The former WWE Champion expressed peace with his circumstances and is now looking forward to new opportunities beyond wrestling.

"You know that thing I said earlier — how I’m someone who spent his past not being able to picture a future? I can picture one now. Which is ironic, I guess, since I broke my neck and can’t wrestle. But I’m at peace. And if that’s truly a wrap on my in-ring career… I’m excited to explore the paths that are opening up for me in its wake. Whether it’s working for WWE outside of the ring, or it’s hosting, or acting, or voice work, or filmmaking, or so many other things," Big E wrote in his article.

He also shared that, despite the uncertainty surrounding his wrestling career, he feels fulfilled in his current life and is eager to explore other passions. "I feel like there are still so many parts of myself for me to discover. I feel like I’ve spent the last 10 years with Woods and Kofi on this amazing, life-changing project: trying to perform a version of wrestling that’s in the image of all the things we love. And now I want to find out how far I can stretch that project past wrestling. I want to see if I can actually create some of those things we love," he added.

Big E’s Surprise Return to WWE RAW

In a surprising turn, Big E made a recent return to Monday Night RAW during the New Day's 10-year anniversary celebration. Tensions within the group had been building for some time, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods appearing increasingly at odds. Fans had speculated that the long-running faction could be on the brink of a breakup. However, in an unexpected twist, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on Big E, ousting him from the group.

This sudden shift in dynamics hints at a potential heel turn for Kingston and Woods, positioning them as the new anti-heroes in the WWE universe. What comes next for The New Day remains uncertain, but the group’s storyline has taken an intriguing and unpredictable turn.

As Big E continues to navigate life beyond the ring, his future in WWE, as well as in the world of entertainment, remains open. Whether it’s contributing to WWE in new ways or pursuing other ventures, the former champion is focused on embracing new opportunities and exploring all that lies ahead.
