UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall has dropped a major update on the potential title unification fight against Jon Jones. Aspinall has waited an eternity for the announcement of the fight, and the wait is still on. However, considering what Tom said on the High Performance podcast, the impending confirmation can be made soon.

Fans Await the Final Decision on Tom Aspinall vs Jon Jones Fight

The Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall fight for the UFC Heavyweight title makes all the sense, but for some unknown reason, the contest is yet to get the official nod from the promotion. There have been multiple occasions when the UFC CEO, Dana White, claimed that the concerned fight is in the works and will happen. However, besides the speculations that stemmed from White's comments, nothing concrete from the fight has ever come across.

Tom Aspinall Provides Update on Potential Fight with Jon Jones

Aspinall, who has been ready from the outset to face Jones, opened up on why the consensus GOAT is not taking up the challenge. According to Aspinall, Jones is aware of the risk and wants to draw as much as sum as possible.

“I just think that, he’s like 37, 38 years old, but not only that, he’s got like a million miles on the clock. He’s got a lot of damage on the body, he’s took a lot of shots to the head, and that’s not me saying anything negative about it. That’s the reality of it and I’m sure Jon Jones is aware of that.”

Having been put in a limbo for months, Tom Aspinall is tired of it and willing to move on from potentially the biggest fight of his career.

Nevertheless, Aspianll also revealed that the wait could finally get over as he is about to receive the official word on the fight, as he has a scheduled meeting with UFC's Hunter Campbell in London.

“Oh, I’m well bored of it. I’ve had enough. I think we either need to fight or I need to move on and do something else and like I said, I’m going to find out. Literally, today is the day that I’ve been waiting 3-4 months for and I’m going to find out today.”
