Lewis Hamilton shares worrying health update on his beloved dog who is in coma
Hamilton took over his Instagram account to update his fans about Roscoe, the 12-year-old bulldog’s serious health. The Formula One star wrote on his story as he wanted to keep his fans “updated”:
“Roscoe caught pneumonia again and was struggling to breathe.”
Hamilton continued:
"He was admitted into hospital and sedated to calm him while they did checks on him and during the process his heart stopped. They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma.”
While thanking his supporters, Hamilton who stated that he was by his beloved dog’s side, wrote further:
"We don’t know whether he will wake from this. Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up.”
In the wake of this, the 40-year-old pulled out of a test drive with Ferrari at the last minute. Hamilton was scheduled to show up and represent his team, alongside teammate Charles Leclerc, on Friday in a Pirelli tyre test at the Mugello circuit in Italy. However, following the worrying hours he has been going through right now, the F1 superstar has now been confirmed not to take part in it.
Roscoe has been a regular supporter of Hamilton and has been a regular alongside the racer in the paddock over the past decade. Roscoe is a British Bulldog who was adopted by Hamilton in 2013 and is well-known for his significant media presence. The former Mercedes racer met the dog while he was looking for rescues online.
As per a report on the Dog Time site, Hamilton shared his experience of seeing Roscoe for the first time and believing him to be the one, after going through several bulldog pictures. He calls it “one of the best decisions” of his life that he ever took.
