Vice President Kamala Harris will not appear on Joe Rogan's popular podcast, as her campaign spokesperson confirmed on Thursday. Harris's team had discussed a potential appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience," but scheduling conflicts arose, according to spokesperson Ian Sams during an interview on MSNBC.

“We talked with Rogan and his team about the podcast. Unfortunately, it isn't going to work out right now because of the scheduling of this period of the campaign,” Sams stated.

Earlier reports had suggested that Harris was considering an interview with Rogan in the lead-up to the 2024 election, particularly since his podcast has a significant following among young men. However, her campaign confirmed that there would be no appearance before Election Day.

Sams emphasized that Harris is “happy to go anywhere and any place to talk to a broad segment of the country.”

Trump on Rogan's show

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump announced last week that he would be recording an episode with Rogan on Friday, with episodes typically released shortly after recording. Rogan's podcast boasts around 14.5 million listeners per episode, as reported by Digital Music News. Given the show's predominantly male audience, an appearance by Harris could have been a strategic move to connect with a demographic where she faces challenges.

Polls indicate that Trump holds a notable lead among male voters, while Harris is performing strongly with female voters. David Karpf, an associate professor at George Washington University, previously noted to Newsweek that Harris's potential appearance on Rogan's show would align with the Democratic candidate's "media strategy." He remarked, “Some of [Rogan's] listeners will surely back Trump, but some are up for grabs. She'll want to get her message out and draw a clear contrast with Trump.”
