Slovenian cycling sensation Tadej Pogacar has once again etched his name in the history books, securing his fourth Tour de France title in six years. The 26-year-old dominated the 2025 edition of the world’s most prestigious cycling race, showcasing sheer strength, strategy, and determination across the grueling 21-stage event.
Tadej Pogacar’s unstoppable ride
From the opening week of the Tour, Pogacar made it clear that he was on a mission. After seizing the yellow jersey mid-race, he never relinquished control. His UAE Team Emirates XRG squad played a critical role in his commanding lead, with Pogačar himself admitting the team’s aggressive start laid the foundation for victory.
“It all started with how we started to ride with the team. We went fighting from Day 1,” Pogacar said. “After Stage 5, I knew I had good legs to compete for the victory.”
Even with the title virtually secured, Tadej Pogacar didn’t coast to the finish. In a rain-soaked final stage in Paris, he rode with grit and determination, further proving why he remains the man to beat in the peloton.
Neutralized finish adds twist to final stage
Stage 21, spanning 132.3 kilometers from Mantes-La-Ville to the iconic Champs-Élysées, witnessed a dramatic twist as race officials neutralized times with 50 kilometers remaining due to hazardous weather conditions. Torrential rain created slick roads, prompting organizers to prioritize rider safety over competition.
Despite the time freeze, the battle for the stage win remained fierce. Wout van Aert surged ahead to claim the final stage victory, finishing in 3:07:30, followed closely by Davide Ballerini and Matej Mohoric.

A rivalry of respect

“Battling against Jonas was a tough experience,” said Pogacar. “Much respect and much congratulations for his fight. Great race.”
With four titles under his belt and still in his prime, Tadej Pogacar has solidified his status as one of cycling’s greatest talents. As the cycling world looks ahead, all eyes will remain on the Slovenian star—who shows no signs of slowing down.
