Team Europe was defeated by Team World with a score of 15-9 to give the opponents their third Laver Cup title. Alcaraz was one of the most dominating players at the tournament, nevertheless, he alone couldn't bring the trophy home. The 55-year-old didn't forget to mention the 2025 US Open champion's name and what it means to defeat a side which includes a player like him.

Alcaraz’s 13-match winning streak, which included his milestone US Open title, came to an end after the six-time Grand Slam champion lost to Taylor Fritz, who was a star of the night.The 22-year-old committed 19 unforced errors to opponent’s 10 before losing with a score of 6-3, 6-2 to the American. The 27-year-old powerd his side to a 7-3 lead before duo Alex de Minaur and Alex Michelsen improved that to 9-3 with their doubles victory over Casper Ruud and Holger Rune.
As the hosts earned a dominating victory in San Francisco, the win came after eight editions with Team Europe holding a 5-3 lead against Team World.
