Pegula leads 6-4, 1-2 after play was suspended earlier. The men’s final between Taylor Fritz and Rafael Jodar is set for not before 1:00 pm, according to the official post by the tournament.

Rain forces postponement of Mubadala DC Open finals; new date & time announced

The hard-court ATP/WTA 500 event, originally scheduled to conclude on 2 August 2026, has been plagued by weather delays throughout the final day. Ticketing details for the rescheduled matches are expected shortly.

Alex Eala's match against Jessica Pegula in the final, the highly anticipated clash between the stars, is one of the matches affected by the bad weather. Meanwhile, Eala, the 21-year-old, has reached her first-ever WTA Tour-level title final.

The rising tennis star recently beat second seed Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinal. She had earlier defeated the defending champion Leylah Fernandez in the round of 16 after kicking off her campaign against Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen.

Fans have expressed disappointment over the short notice and shift to weekday sessions, which may affect attendance for those with work or travel commitments. Organisers cited safety and continuing inclement weather as reasons for the decision.
