The two, Sinner and Sabalenka, have become the first man and woman to achieve the feat simultaneously since Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka in 2016. Sinner, the World No. 2, capped his dominant run with a straightforward 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jiri Lehecka in Sunday’s Miami Open men’s final at Hard Rock Stadium.
The Italian, who also won Indian Wells earlier this month, dropped just one set across both tournaments and became the first man since Roger Federer in 2017 to sweep the two prestigious hard-court events.
A day earlier, World No. 1 Sabalenka retained her Miami title by battling past Coco Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in the women’s final, securing her own Sunshine Double after claiming the Indian Wells crown. Sabalenka improved to 23-1 on the season, with her only loss coming in the Australian Open final, which was against Elena Rybakina.
