Bhambri wants to recover; he doesn't plan to keep on going with pain and having painkillers. However, he is ready to play at the Asian Games as Medical scans confirmed no tear, only a strain requiring rest. Speaking after the tournament, Bhambri, as per the Times of India, said:
“I can’t see myself missing the Asian Games.”

“I have done all the tests and scans; there’s no break or tear, it is just a strain that needs some rest.”
The tennis player noted he has been looking forward to the multi-sport event in Nagoya for a couple of years and will also prioritise the Davis Cup. Bhambri plans a short break to recover before assessing his fitness for India’s Davis Cup qualifiers against South Korea in Seoul on 18-19 September.
The Asian Games tennis competition follows shortly afterwards. With a busy calendar stretching into November, the veteran emphasised the importance of managing his body carefully and avoiding playing through pain.
