Alcaraz Retains Wimbledon Crown with Stunning Upset win over Djokovic

The young Spaniard etched his name in history, becoming only the sixth player in the Open era to win both Roland Garros and Wimbledon in consecutive years. At just 21 years old and with four Grand Slam titles already under his belt, Alcaraz is well on his way to becoming a legend of the sport.

Djokovic, aiming for several historic milestones – tying Roger Federer's eight Wimbledon titles, becoming the oldest Grand Slam champion in the Open era, and surpassing Margaret Court's record of 25 Grand Slam victories – found himself overpowered by Alcaraz's explosive game.

The Spaniard set the tone for the match with a marathon first game, lasting 14 minutes and culminating in a crucial break of serve. Alcaraz continued to dominate with a blistering 136mph serve (his fastest of the tournament) and another break, putting him in control at 4-1. Unforced errors from Djokovic allowed Alcaraz to comfortably sweep the first set 6-2.

The second set followed a similar script. Alcaraz broke Djokovic's serve twice, capitalizing on a double fault to lead 5-2 and silence the Centre Court crowd. Serving with confidence, Alcaraz sealed the set 6-2, putting himself one set away from victory.

The third set proved to be a much tighter contest. Djokovic, facing a potential career-defining upset, changed his racket and found renewed aggression with his serve and groundstrokes. He even saved three championship points while facing a 0-40 deficit on his own serve, forcing a tie-break.

This remarkable victory further cements Alcaraz's status as a rising superstar, leaving the tennis world eagerly anticipating his continued dominance for years to come.
