After two months, Dominik Mysterio made his return to the ring, as he was not cleared to fight due to rib injury. Dom was seen in action on Saturday night in a WWE Live event in Mexico city and received a loud ovation from Mexican fans.

Dominik Mysterio makes roaring comeback

The current Intercontinental champion fought against El Grande Americano and Ron Killings (R-Truth) in a Triple Threat non-title match and ended up as winner, creating some momentum before his title match against Aj Styles at the upcoming SummerSlam 2025.

"You know my name," Dominik Mysterio said in front of the camera as he entered the ring for his match, receiving a standing ovation from the fans.

 

 

Dominik now has a hard challenge in front of him, as AJ Styles is coming to clinch his title in a match that was originally planned to take place at Night of Champions a month earlier.

For the past few weeks, Dominik was following doctor's notes as he was not able to compete and had to avoid any  physical contact, but now he is all set to appear in the match.

Dominik Mysterio aims to become a double champion

Dom will aim to retain his Intercontinental title at SummerSlam, then  he will shift his focus  to becoming a double champion at Triplemania XXXIII in Mexico City.

The fight will take place on August 16, and it will see three WWE Superstars feature on an AAA event to fight for the Mega Championship, as reigning champion Hijo del vikingo will lock horns against Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano, and Dominik Mysterio in a Fatal Four-way match.

The Latter made a statement on Sunday night in Monterrey, when he assaulted Lee and Vikingo and walked out with the Mega Championship, setting the stage for the title fight in just three weeks.
