Family confirms the Hall of Famer is already making progress and remains determined to return to normal life.

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler has been forced to step away from public appearances once again after suffering another major health scare. The legendary commentator and wrestler, beloved by generations of fans, endured his third stroke in the past eight years and is now taking time off to focus on recovery.

Jerry Lawler suffers another stroke

Lawler’s daughter confirmed to TMZ that the 74-year-old icon suffered a stroke on September 5 while at one of his homes in Florida. Despite the seriousness of the situation, she revealed that her father is already “well on his way to recovery.” The WWE legend will be transported back to his primary residence where he plans to rest for the next several weeks in order to regain strength and return to his routine.

This latest health battle marks Lawler’s third stroke since 2018. His previous episodes occurred in 2018 and again in 2023, with the latter significantly affecting his ability to speak and write. Despite the challenges, Lawler fought through rehabilitation and continued to make public appearances, showcasing his determination and resilience.

A history of resilience

Known as “The King” in professional wrestling, Lawler’s career spans decades, both as a competitor in the ring and as one of WWE’s most recognizable commentators. His first major stroke in 2018 was followed by another severe one in early 2023, which left many fans concerned about his long-term health. Yet, Lawler managed to recover enough to resume limited public appearances, including attending WWE events and fan conventions.

Beyond strokes, Lawler also underwent knee replacement surgery last year but appeared to be in relatively good health in recent months. In fact, just weeks before his latest stroke, he was spotted celebrating Vince McMahon’s 80th birthday, engaging with fellow wrestling personalities.

Recovery and future outlook

Lawler’s daughter has assured fans that while this setback is significant, the WWE Hall of Famer remains determined to “get back to normal.” For now, he will prioritize rest and recovery under the care of his family.

Lawler’s health journey has been marked by resilience and courage, and his fans continue to rally around him with hopes for a strong recovery. With his larger-than-life presence in wrestling history, Jerry “The King” Lawler remains an enduring figure whose influence on the sport will never be forgotten, regardless of health challenges.
