The men’s cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan has reached the knockout stage, with the quarter-final line-up confirmed following the conclusion of the group phase. Two fixtures were scheduled for September 26 before being washed out due to rain.
Nepal were set to face hosts Japan while Malaysia were scheduled to play Oman. India, the defending champions after defeating Afghanistan in the 2023 final in Hangzhou, enter as one of four automatic qualifiers alongside Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Afghanistan and Nepal advanced from Group A, eliminating hosts Japan, while Hong Kong and Malaysia progressed from Group B after Oman were knocked out.

Nepal defeated Afghanistan in the group stage and now faces Sri Lanka. Hong Kong and Malaysia similarly represent potential banana skins for the higher-ranked full-member teams. Rain, which disrupted the final group matches, is forecast to remain a factor, with a high chance of interruptions during the quarter-finals. In the event of a no-result, the higher-seeded side based on ICC rankings advances.
On Monday, 28 September, Pakistan will take on Hong Kong, China, while India will meet Afghanistan later the same day at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. The following day, Sri Lanka will face Nepal, and Bangladesh will play Malaysia.
Semi-finals are scheduled for 1 October, with the gold-medal match set for 3 October.
