Anthony Davis Writes First Social Media Post After Shock Transfer to Dallas Mavericks

A day after the transfer that sent shockwaves around the world, Anthony Davis broke his silence on social media. AD reflected on the time he spent at the LA Lakers and hailed it as an experience he will never forget. As his stint with the Lakers has culminated, Davis made it known that a special place in his heart will always be reserved for LA. Looking on to the future, Davis labelled the fresh journey with Dallas as the "exciting next chapter" of his "great story".

"6 years ago, I came here with the vision to win a Championship, and I will never forget the moment we did! The business of basketball is a business just like all other businesses… I am grateful to the city where my first ring came from, grew my family and friendships and I will always have a home here. My family and I thank everyone who made this place home and we are still thinking of those that lost their homes in the fires.
To my teammates: our friendships go beyond a locker room and a jersey…
LA will always have a special place in my heart.
Every great story has an exciting next chapter…
Dallas- Here we come!"

Anthony Davis is averaging 25.7 points per game this season, along with 11.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 1.3 steals. His shooting percentages are 52.8% from the field, 29.8% from three-point range, and 78.8% from the free-throw line. These statistics showcase that AD will be a busy man on the court for the Mavs and will have the onus to form a consortium with Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson for the remainder of the season. The Mavericks are currently enduring the lingering inconsistent run; thus, Davis' objective would be to provide some solidarity to the team, and should he attain success in the task, then it will not take much time to win over the Mavericks fans and become the new face of the team.
