The Miami Heat will welcome the NBA's defending champions, Boston Celtics on Friday, March 14 at the Kaseya Center. The main talking point for the defending champions would be whether their star player Jayson Tatum starts against the Heat or not.

Will Jayson Tatum start against Miami Heat?

The disappointing news coming from the camp of the Celtics is that Jayson Tatum is listed on the injury report of the team. He is listed as questionable and his involvement in the game remains uncertain. He is dealing with a knee injury which could sideline him for the clash. Tatum is leading the team with 27.2 points per game.

The Boston Celtics have a strong 47-19 record and going through a tough injury period with four players out of first five listed as questionable. Tatum's potential absence from the clash would come as a major blow for the Celtics as he averages 24.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists in the last 20 games. His ability to stretch the court with his 3.3 three-pointers has been crucial for the Celtics. On top of it, the Celtics lead the league with 17.8 threes made per contest.

If Jayson Tatum doesn't suit up for the clash against the Heat, then the team will heavily rely on Derrick White and Jaylen Brown. But, both White and Brown are also listed on the injury report as they are dealing with knee injuries.

The depth of the Celtics would be tested today against the Heat, who are desperate for a win as the try to stay afloat in the playoff race. Despite having an average record of 29-36, the Heat have been competitive this season, all thanks to Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. Both the players have led the charge for the Heat as Herro averages 23.9 points per game and Adebayo's dominance in the defence (10.0 rebounds per game) could pose vital problems for the Celtics squad.

The injury report for the Celtics include Kristaps Porzingis (questionable, illness) and Al Horford (probable, toe). Porzingis' potential absence would further weaken the Celtics' defense but Horford's availability would balance it out. Miami Heat will be without their key players in the form of Nikola Jokic (hand) and Alec Burks (back).
