Milwaukee Bucks star player Giannis Antetokounmpo has achieved yet another remarkable milestone, becoming the 52nd player in NBA history to surpass 20,000 career points. The Greek forward reached the achievement in his trademark style, using his power and agility to drive through the paint and finish with a layup against the Dallas Mavericks in the third quarter.

Giannis Antetokounmpo: a milestone for the Bucks star

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 20,000th point further solidifies his place among the all-time greats in NBA history. He is now part of an elite group of players to have reached this impressive feat.

The most recent addition to this prestigious list was Antetokounmpo’s Bucks teammate Damian Lillard, who hit the 20,000-point mark just last season. While Antetokounmpo’s milestone places him among the top 52 players in NBA history, the figure extends to 56 players if you account for ABA stats.

The Bucks honored Antetokounmpo with a tribute video, recognizing the star who has been with the team since he was 19 years old, debuting in the 2013-14 season.

Comparing Antetokounmpo to LeBron James

This milestone came just one day after LeBron James reached the historic 50,000-point mark, a feat that includes both regular season and playoff points. While James' career total stands at an astounding 41,187 regular-season points, Antetokounmpo’s achievement is still remarkable, given that he has been in the league for only 12 seasons.

The 28-year-old two-time MVP has steadily increased his scoring output over the years and, while not yet near James' level, remains on a path that could eventually lead to a Hall of Fame career.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s impact on the Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo has already established himself as the greatest player in Milwaukee Bucks history. He leads the franchise in nearly every statistical category, including games played, minutes, field goals, rebounds, assists, blocks, triple-doubles, field-goal percentage, and, of course, points.

His dominance in these areas speaks volumes about his influence on the team and his continued development as a player.

As a two-time MVP, former Defensive Player of the Year, and eight-time All-Star, Antetokounmpo continues to build an exceptional legacy. With this new entry on his resume, his career shows no signs of slowing down.
