Bulls are 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 29-49 record

The move comes with just four games remaining in the 2025-26 season

The Chicago Bulls have dismissed executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley, the team announced Monday, ending a six-year tenure that produced limited success and widespread fan frustration.

The move comes with just four games remaining in the 2025-26 season, as the Bulls sit at 29-49 and are on track to miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year. Since Karnisovas and Eversley took over basketball operations in 2020, the team compiled a 224-254 record with only one playoff appearance.

Bulls president and CEO Michael Reinsdorf cited the lack of on-court progress as the driving factor. He said in a statement:

"These decisions are never easy, especially when they involve people we respect both personally and professionally."

Reinsdorf added:

"We are grateful for their dedication... At the same time, we have not had the success our fans deserve, and it's my responsibility to go in a new direction."

The firings mark a significant reset for the franchise heading into the offseason. With the front office now largely cleared out, attention turns to who will lead the next phase, whether the Bulls commit to a genuine tank-and-rebuild strategy or attempt another pivot toward contention.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 29-49 record. In their most recent game, they were defeated 136-96 by the New York Knicks. They will next face the Washington Wizards, another struggling side.
