Four-time NBA champion notches up historic landmark, a feat never achieved in the NBA against Sacramento Kings

It was not till the third quarter that Curry reached the historic landmark of 4,000 three-pointers as he has the Chase Stadium on it's feet.

The Golden State Warriors were hosting the Sacramento Kings at the Chase Center on Thursday, March 13th and walked away with a comprehensive win (130-104). During the match, the four-time NBA champion, Stephen Curry notched up a record which was never achieved in the history of the sport. 

Stephen Curry reached a historic milestone against Sacramento Kings

The 37-year-old point guard was just two threes short from reaching the historic landmark of 4,000 three-pointers in NBA while going into the clash against the Kings. In the recent past, Curry became the 26th player in league to cross the 25,000 career points mark. 

Curry, who turned 37 today on March 14, entered the match in great form and took some time at the start to reach an historic milestone which was regarded as unthinkable in the NBA before. Since Curry's arrival in the big league, he has revolutionized the three-point shooting. 

Curry notched up his first three-pointer late in the first half with a bucket 26 feet away from as he moved an inch closer to the 4,000 mark (3,999). It was also one of the three attempted three-pointers by Curry in the first half as the Warriors took a 61-51 lead heading into the break. 

It was not till the third quarter that Curry reached the historic landmark of 4,000 three-pointers as he has the Chase Stadium on it's feet. He scored from 27 feet away with 8min 19 remaining on the clock as Warriors were still leading with 72-63. 

After the match, Curry spoke to the reporters and said,

It was a special moment, obviously to do it at home. It was a weird game -- I didn't get many attempts until the third. But the energy was special.

Stephen Curry finished the game against Sacramento Kings with 11 points with 4-for-9 shooting from the field and 2-for-6 from the deep. He registered two rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block during the clash. The Warriors are placed firmly at the sixth spot in the Western Conference with a record of 38-28 and will next face New York Knicks on Sunday, March 16.
