Shai Gilgeous Alexander will play in his team's NBA Cup quarterfinals home game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The guard was sidelined for one game due to left elbow bursitis and did not play against the Jazz in their most recent encounter. 

The defending champions managed to win the game without the 27-year-old star, as Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren scored 25 points. The Thunder are currently first in the Western Conference and have lost just one game with a 23-1 record. The team has been dominating the league so far and will attempt to fill one of the semifinal spaces in the NBA Cup.

On the other hand, the Suns are 14-10 this season before entering the fixture against the Thunder. They stand 7th in the Western Conference and are coming off a 108-105 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Suns managed to get over Anthony Edwards’ 40-point stunner as Mark Williams recorded 22 points and seven rebounds.
