Story Highlights:

Steph Curry is 36 years old.

He’s a two-time MVP and has won four NBA championships.

After the Golden State Warriors' early exit from the NBA Cup, the team's prospects for the 2024/25 season took a significant hit. Despite a solid 14-10 record, the Warriors currently sit fifth in the Western Conference, especially following the departure of their legendary guard, Klay Thompson, who joined the 16-9 Dallas Mavericks over the summer. While the Warriors face challenges, the team still has its greatest asset—Stephen Curry. Stephen Curry who is currently aged 36 is in that phase of the career where people are seeing till when he can stretch his career. The superstar has shared thoughts about his future.

Curry’s Commitment to the Game
Though Curry is enjoying great success off the court, managing a growing business empire and raising his four children with wife Ayesha, his basketball career remains far from over. At 36, Curry continues to perform at an elite level, and despite questions surrounding his future, he isn't thinking about retirement just yet.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg News, Curry shared his thoughts on the future of his career. "There are two ways to really go out in basketball: either you're forced out or you go out on your own terms," Curry stated. He expressed that he wants to step away from the game when the time feels right, taking into consideration how his body feels and the intensity of preparing for an 82-game season. "I don't want to be the one that's limping up and down the court trying to keep up with the young bucks, but I don't think I'm anywhere close to that yet."

Curry's Legacy and Future Achievements
Curry’s career has already been extraordinary. He’s a two-time MVP and has won four NBA championships. His name is synonymous with three-point shooting, holding the record for the most three-pointers made in NBA history. Additionally, his free-throw percentage of 91% is the highest in league history.

Despite the Warriors' aging roster and the challenge of integrating younger players like Jonathan Kuminga, Curry’s ambition is still strong. The possibility of a fifth NBA title might seem uncertain, but with his talent and leadership, Curry could reach new milestones, including the prestigious 30,000-point mark. The future may be unclear for the Warriors, but as long as Curry is on the court, they will remain a threat in the NBA.

A Personal Milestone: Curry's Family and the Naming Dilemma
Beyond basketball, Curry’s personal life is also full of significant milestones. As a father of four, Curry and Ayesha have faced some tough decisions, including naming their children.

Speaking on the Warriors Sound Podcast, Curry revealed that naming their children was more challenging than one might expect. The couple initially thought their first child would be a boy, so the name "Canon" was already chosen. However, when they learned they were having a girl, "Riley" became their choice. Their other children’s names, "Ryan" and "Cannon," followed the same pattern of starting with "R" and "C." Curry shared, “When we found out, we were having a boy. It was an automatic Canon.”

While questions about Stephen Curry’s future in the NBA remain, there is no doubt that he is not yet ready to step away from the game. With the Warriors’ championship hopes in flux, Curry’s leadership and on-court brilliance continue to make him one of the most formidable players in the league.
