Joe Smith Picks Stephen A. Smith's Side
It all started when Stephen A. Smith delivered a monologue on why LeBron James' son Bronny James is not deserved of a spot in the Lakers. Taking note of it, LeBron pulled Smith to a corner during a game against the Knicks, where SAS was in attendance, and gave him an earful. The matter escalated when both individuals, particularly Stephen A. Smith, talked about the confrontation on different platforms. Eventually, the dust settled on the subject, but the noise emanated from it comes back to life every now and then.
Former NBA player Joe Smith has paid heed to the dispute and to the surprise of many sided with Stephen A. Smith. Joe Smith recently joined the Eighty or Eighty Thousand podcast. He went on to share his opinion on Smith and James’ recent debacle.
“I’m a huge fan of First Take. I watch it almost every morning,” Smith said. “Stephen A. gives his takes on a lot of players, but I’ve never heard him attack LeBron or Bronny’s character.”
Although Smith sides with Stephen A., he also understands LeBron’s actions. “As a father, you want to protect your child,” Smith said.
While as a father, James' action was justified, but the fact will remain intact that being the son of arguably the greatest ever basketball player of all time, Bronny James will have to prove his mettle on the court, and only then he will be able to silence the detractors. Otherwise, opinions like that of Stephen A. Smith will keep on emerging.
