Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the 2025-26 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player on Monday, securing his second consecutive MVP honor. By doing so, he became just the 14th player in league history to win back-to-back awards.

The announcement cements SGA’s place among the all-time greats after leading the Thunder to another dominant regular season. This achievement places SGA in elite company with basketball legends who accomplished the feat: Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Nikola Jokić.
