What Triggered Nico Harrison to Trade Luka Doncic in Exchange for Anthony Davis?

While the noise on the trade is still loud, yet a considerable time has passed and with the passage of time fresh revelations have continued to come out on Luka Doncic's sensational transfer to the LA Lakers. As fans are still facing trouble in wrapping their heads around how the franchise came up with the reasons to send the Slovenian away, it turns out there indeed were reasons, and though it could come as hard to digest but Mavericks GM Nico Harrison was reportedly off the view that bringing Anthony Davis in exchange for Luka Doncic increases the franchise's chances of lifting the Larry O'Brien trophy.

The Athletic's Christian Clark, Mike Vorkunov, and Fred Katz have shed some light on Harrison's reasoning behind trading Doncic for a package revolving around Anthony Davis.

"Privately and publicly, Harrison has said he moved Doncic for Davis because he felt it gave Dallas the best chance at raising the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Harrison believes that Davis is a better cultural fit for what the Mavericks want to build."

Thus, it could be concluded that Davis being a better cultural fit triggered the move for Doncic.
