Golden State Warriors' prospects immensely improved following the arrival of Jimmy Butler in the squad. However, the franchise is far from settled and wants to add further solidarity to the side by strengthening the defense as well. In this context, Golden State have set their sights on a 12-year NBA veteran, Patrick Beverley.

Golden State Warriors Aim to End Defensive Frailties
Patrick Beverley recently entered the free agency after amicably exiting the Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv. He would be looking for takers and his tenacious defense may trigger Golden State to bring him on board.
“It's the defensive end where Beverley built his career though, having earned Defensive Player of the Year votes in five different NBA seasons and earning All-Defensive Team honors three times,” wrote Blue Man Hoop’s Peter O’Keefe.
While he does not have much to showcase when it comes to the offensive aspect- averaging 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists last season with the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks- his defensive acumen could fetch him a deal from the Golden State Warriors. His ability to challenge the opposing guards and assert authority against the bigger players hasn't gone unnoticed and comes as an admirable quality of his. During his lone season with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022, he averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.
Patrick Beverley's previous stints in the NBA include the time he spent with the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, and Minnesota Timberwolves. His physicality and showcasing of persistence while defending has made him a fan favorite and a competitor who has the respect of his opponents.
As the Golden State Warriors are looking to fill every frailty in the squad, Patrick Beverley comes as more than a fascinating option for the franchise to consider. He could prove to be the missing piece, who may eventually contribute to bringing the Warriors back into the title race.
