Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has provided the fans with an honest but brutal update on Stephen Curry’s return. The point guard has not played in 22 consecutive games, and the head coach has stated that he is not going to push him as the NBA playoffs are just around the corner.

The Warriors' superstar is still recovering from a runner’s knee injury. In his absence, the franchise is 34-38 and 10th in the Western Conference. While Kerr’s side badly needs its talisman, the Warriors boss will not hurry, which might make the injury even worse.

Kerr has stated that Dr. Rick Celebrini is monitoring Curry and his recovery. The Warriors coach, as he appeared on Willard and Dibs, said:

“If we don’t feel good about it, then he’s not going to play.”

The 60-year-old added:

“I mean, we’re not pushing him into anything if things aren’t really clear.”

Kerr continued:

“And that’s, Rick has been really adamant about that and very open with that, you know, to me and to Mike here over the last week. And he feels good about it.”

This might be a concerning update for the fans amid the struggling season of the franchise. In their most recent game, Kerr’s side won 137-131 against the Dallas Mavericks, another team that is going through a disappointing season post-Luka Doncic trade and has been eliminated from the playoffs already. The Warriors are scheduled to face the Brooklyn Nets next.
