LaMelo Ball has emphasized his own survival and gratitude as he reflected on the shocking car crash that has been making rounds on the internet. The Charlotte Hornets guard crashed his custom Hummer into another vehicle in downtown Charlotte in February 2026, losing a front tire in the collision.
The player emerged uninjured; however, footage shows him leaving the scene without aiding the other driver, which has sparked widespread criticism for evading responsibility. And when he met the reporters after the game, things got tense.
Hornets star LaMelo Ball responds to his shocking car crash
Ball, as he looked frustrated as the topic lingered, addressed the car crash in Charlotte during post-game media availability after the Hornets' game the following day. He said:
Fortunately, everybody is cool, so blessings. God is great."
When directly asked why he left the scene, Ball replied:
“You’ve got to check in on that with them."
Ball kept responses brief overall, and in one instance, walked out mid-interview when pressed further on accountability or the other person's injuries. The video has gone viral following his response to the incident.
