Cofounded by WNBA superstars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, the league aims to introduce highlevel 3 on 3 women’s basketball to the U.S. This exciting new venture is backed by major figures in the sport and promises to set new standards for player compensation. Unrivaled also offers a domestic alternative for WNBA players who typically spend the winter playing overseas.

With its inaugural season fast approaching, Unrivaled Basketball is preparing to launch, and fans can expect thrilling competition, star studded rosters, and game changing player salaries.

 What is Unrivaled Basketball?

Unrivaled is a professional 3on3 women’s basketball league that was cofounded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, two of the most prominent players in the WNBA. Designed to provide a high-level, domestic alternative for athletes who usually play overseas in the winter months, Unrivaled is set to kick off its inaugural season on January 17, 2025. 

All games will be played in Miami, with the league featuring six teams, each composed of six active WNBA players. One of the most exciting aspects of the league is its player compensation, which will offer some of the highest salaries ever seen in women’s sports.

 Unrivaled Basketball League Rules: A Fresh Take on the Game

Unrivaled introduces a fresh take on the game of basketball with its 3on3 format, played on a 70foot by 50foot court. The games will be fastpaced, played within a onehour broadcast window, and divided into four timed quarters. The use of both a game clock and a shot clock will keep the action flowing quickly.

The inaugural season will span eight weeks, including playoffs, and will feature a roundrobin format in the regular season. The top four teams from the regular season will advance to the playoffs, culminating in an exciting finals showdown.

 Unrivaled Player Compensation: Setting a New Standard

Unrivaled Basketball is revolutionizing player compensation in women’s sports. While specific salary figures haven’t been fully disclosed, reports suggest that the average salary will hover around $250,000, with all players earning at least six figures. Furthermore, every player will receive equity ownership in their team, which adds an exciting financial element to the league, allowing athletes to share in the longterm success of the league.

 Unrivaled 2025 Season: Full Schedule and Broadcast Information

The 2025 Unrivaled season will be broadcast on TNT and truTV, with games also available for streaming on Max and Sling. All games will take place in Miami at a specially constructed venue created by the league and its production partner, Mediapro.
