Aaron Gordon has been on the sidelines for the Nuggets yet again. The veteran forward is a key part of the Nuggets' attack, and his absence is clearly visible on the court.
Although, Gordon's 30s are not treating him as well as he may have thought. The forward re injured his right hamstring in a 102-100 win against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 23.
As per NBA insider Shams Charania, he is expected to be on the sidelines for at least four weeks.
"Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks with a right hamstring strain, sources tell ESPN. Gordon re-aggravated the previous hamstring injury he sustained in late November," Charania wrote in an X post on Thursday.
Aaron Gordon has been dealing with the same right hamstring issue for the entire season. The issue has prevented him from playing for a long period. The Nuggets forward has clocked in only 23 games this season.
While he is out for a minimum four to six weeks, there is still hope that Gordon can make a comeback in playoff time. He is averaging 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game on 50.9% shooting.
The Nuggets (32-16) are in third place in the Western Conference table. They are among the frontrunners in the West to secure a playoff spot this season.
Nuggets coach is worried about Aaron Gordon's headspace
Denver Nuggets' coach David Adelman is worried about Aaron Gordon's mindset as the experienced forward continues to struggle with his hamstring injuries. After the reaggravation of Gordon's injury, Adelmad expressed his concerns for his team's forward to the press.
"It hurts the team, but I’m more concerned about him,” he said. “Just him having to restart this whole process, find the motivation to get back. We know he’ll be back before the end of the season. And he’ll get back to being who he is. Just an unfortunate thing in a season of many unfortunate things."
Later, the Nuggets coach said that he is trying to get Aaron Gordon back into the right mindset.
"So yeah, I’m more concerned about Aaron as a person and trying to get him in the right head space to complete this short journey again that he just went through. … It’s just been one of those years. Crazy year."
So far, the experienced forward has missed 25 games this season. The Nuggets will lock horns with the LA Clippers without him on Friday.
