After suffering defeat at the hands of the beast that they built themselves, the Dallas Mavericks have returned home and will take on the Charlotte Hornets tonight at the American Airlines Center. Crippled by the number of injuries, the Mavs are in desperate need of a win and would hope that the players will erase frailties in defense and take the lead courtesy of offence. By trading Luka Doncic, the Mavericks received a prolific scorer in the form of Anthony Davis, but the star Center picked up a groin injury in the same match in which he debuted for Dallas on February 8 against the Rockets. He has remained out of action since then.

Will Anthony Davis Play Tonight?
Anthony Davis remains in the Dallas Mavericks injury report for the game against the Hornets and hence will miss out on tonight's game. Davis is recovering from the injury and some encouraging pre-game visuals of him indulging in light workouts have given optimism about his return but till now the Mavericks haven't been notified about the timeline of his recovery. Thus, the 31-year-old could miss a sizeable portion of the remaining season.
The fans who have been waiting to witness Anthony Davis play in the Mavs jersey will have to wait a bit longer. Davis scored 26 points in his premiere show for the Mavs and if weren't for the injury he had disseminated signs of improving the prospects of his new team. Unfortunately, he has sustained an injury and now the Mavericks fans have no choice but to see Luka Doncic flourish in Los Angeles.

Dallas Mavericks Injury Report
Aside from Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin (hip), Daniel Gafford (knee), and Dereck Lively (ankle) are also ruled out of tonight's game. Dante Exum (face) and Dwight Powell (hip) are listed as day-to-day and questionable.
Despite the injuries, the Dallas Mavericks will enter as slight favorites, not because of how they have been playing but because of the horrid season the Hornets are enduring. Charlotte has showcased only flashes of brilliance this season and aside from that they have been poor in every aspect. With all to look forward to let's wait for the live-action and see who comes up with the goods tonight.
