Luka Doncic, who is all set to make his full-season debut for the Los Angeles Lakers, has yet to play for the franchise this season. However, it might change soon, as an insider and coach J.J. Redick has hinted at his appearance for the game against the Phoenix Suns.

Doncic is all set to play his first-ever pre-season game with the 17-time NBA Champions. According to a report by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on X:
“Luka Doncic plans to play Tuesday in Phoenix against the Suns, a source told ESPN. It will be Doncic’s preseason debut.”
The reporter further wrote:
“Lakers coach JJ Redick said Doncic will play in two out of LAL’s final three preseason games.”
Doncic, the Lakers’ new addition, took part in the EuroBasket 2025, where he averaged 33.3 minutes in seven games and was rested following the tournament. On the other hand, team superstar LeBron James has also not played in any exhibition games as the forward is recovering from injury.
LeBron, the 40-year-old NBA icon, has not yet played in the preseason as well. In fact, the legendary basketball player will be out for the opening night of the regular season. The Lakers would not rush with the player as he enters his 23rd NBA season this year.
