Former India captain and legendary spinner, Anil Kumble made a special request to rising superstar Yashasvi Jaiswal after the young Indian batter slammed his second double century of the ongoing series against England and helped the team win the 3rd Test in Rajkot. In candid advice, Kumble urged Jaiswal to keep working on his leg-spin so that he can contribute towards the team's success in more than just one way.
Kumble urged Jaiswal to keep asking captain Rohit Sharma for a few overs in the match so that he can hone his leg-spin bowling skills.
"Well done on your batting. But one thing that I have seen which I want you to continue as well is that you have a natural leg spin. Yes, and action. So don't give up on that. Because you never know when that will come in handy," Kumble told Jaiswal on JioCinema.
"I know you've had a back spasm, but when you're working so much on it. Go tell the skipper to give a few overs," he added.
Jaiswal responded to Kumble's request and affirmed that he works on his bowling continuously. Jaiswal also revealed that Rohit had asked him to be ready to roll his arm over if the need arises.
"So I'm always going and bowling, bowling and bowling. He (Rohit) told me to be ready, and I said yes I am ready," Jaiswal responded.
Yashasvi Jaiswal torments England
The 22-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in scintillating form with the bat in the ongoing Test series between India and England. After playing an 80-run knock in the first Test, Jaiswal roared with the double century in the second match of the series and continued his stupendous run with yet another double hundred in the 3rd Test.
With two more matches left to be played in the series, India would hope that Jaiswal continues to stay hot with the bat and put the team in the driver's seat whenever he gets an opportunity.
