The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has accepted Gautam Gambhir's request to include Kolkata Knight Riders' two assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate in the Indian team's coaching staff as per their similar role in KKR. However, T Dilip will continue to be a part of the Indian staff as the fielding coach.
Gautam Gambhir's tenure to start with SL tour
Gautam Gambhir who took over the office as the successor of Rahul Dravid for the position of the Indian head coach will start his tenure with the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, where both teams will collide in three T20Is and ODIs across two venues. As per the report from Cricbuzz, Abhishek Nayar, and Ryan ten Doeschate's inclusion is confirmed but Morne Morkel's name is still under discussion. However, he is a strong candidate with a high chance of taking up the role of the bowling coach.
