Hardik Pandya on Rohit Sharma
For the first time after being appointed as the captain of Mumbai Indias, Hardik Pandya spoke about Rohit Sharma. In his press conference, Hardik revealed that he hasn't had a one-on-one conversation with Rohit yet as the latter had been busy with the national team.
Furthermore, Hardik stressed the fact that Rohit is still the Team India captain and that the Hitman will continue to assist him whenever needed.
"I haven't got a lot of time to talk with Rohit because he has been touring. I will definitely catch up when he links up with the team," said Hardik.
"It won't be any different. He will be helping me when I need it. As mentioned, he is the Indian captain and I've played my whole career under him. So, I don't feel it would be awkward," Hardik added when quizzed about captaining Rohit.
Hardik on fans' reaction
After Hardik Pandya was announced as the captain of Mumbai Indians, there was a considerable amount of backlash that came the franchise's way. Upon removing Rohit from captaincy, the MI franchise was criticised by scores of fans while Hardik too, faced the heat.
"I respect the fans' emotions but I can only control the controllable. I respect them but I will focus on what I can be doing." said Hardik.
