Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson won the all-important toss and elected to field in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Punjab Kings on April 13 (Saturday). The Royals made two forced changes with Rovman Powell and Tanush Kotian replacing injured Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin. PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan missed the game with injury and Sam Curran walked out at the toss. Atharva Taide replaced Dhawan in PBKS's playing XI.

On the flip side, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) find themselves in eighth place after five matches, having secured two victories and suffered three defeats.

Throughout their IPL history, Punjab and Rajasthan have competed against each other in 26 matches. Of these encounters, PBKS has emerged victorious 11 times, while RR has claimed 15 wins. The highest score PBKS has achieved against RR is 223, while Rajasthan's top score against PBKS stands at 226.
