The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to get underway with a marquee clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22 in Chennai, as per the initial schedule unveiled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on February 22.
After failing to qualify for the playoffs in the IPL 2023, Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are geared up to lock horns against formidable opponents in the IPL 2024 as KKR team will start their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Kolkata on March 23.
Notably, the Kolkata-based franchise is set to play three matches in the first phase of the IPL 2024 as the full schedule is yet to be announced. They will compete against RCB in their second match in Bengaluru on March 29. After this, KKR team will travel to Visakhapatnam to take on Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 3. The schedule for the second phase will be announced later once the Lok Sabha election schedule is out.
Here is the full KKR squad and list of players acquired at the auction by the Kolkata-based franchise. The KKR squad strength is 23 including eight overseas players.

KKR named Dushmantha Chameera as the replacement for Gus Atkinson in IPL 2024 at a reserve price of Rs. 50 Lakh. KKR also replaced Jason Roy with Phil Salt after the former decided to pull out from the IPL 2024 season due to personal reasons. His services were acquired for Rs. 1.50 crore.

KKR won the IPL trophy twice in 2012 and 2014 under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir and the team finished as runners-up in 2021. Gambhir will mentor KKR in IPL 2024.
