Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals reminded Riyan Parag of a promise he made to the RR admin if he gets selected in the Indian squad for the T20I series against Zimbabwe in July. The star all-rounder is one of the five players who will be making their potential India debut after the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup 2024.

BCCI recently announced a 15-member Team India squad for the upcoming five-match Zimbabwe tour. Riyan Parag was the big name in the squad, he along with Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Tushar Deshpande, and Dhruv Jurel got their maiden T20I call-up for India.

Rajasthan Royals posted a video of Riyan Parag from IPL 2024, where he is in the RR dressing room and can be seen telling the admin that if he gets selected for the Zimbabwe tour, he will receive 4-5 new bats after which he would send the bat he used in that season to RR admin. The clip is now going viral all over the internet.
The star player also shared a post from his official ‘X’ account formerly known as Twitter following his selection. The post stated ‘Dare to dream’ and also had an evil eye symbol on it. Riyan Parag scored 573 runs in the 2024 edition of the IPL with an astonishing strike rate of 149.22 and an average of 52.09. His consistent performance also helped RR reach the playoffs.

"The Men’s Selection Committee has picked a 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. India will visit Harare in the first week of July to participate in a 5-match T20I series against the hosts," said BCCI in their official media release.
