After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados, team India faced Zimbabwe for the five-match T20 series where they defeated Sikandar Raza & Co. by 4-1. Now team India will face Sri Lanka for the three-match T20I and ODI series scheduled to start on July 27 and after that, the Men in Blue will compete in the Champions Trophy 2025 which is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) next year. However, Team India has yet to decide whether they have to travel to the neighbouring nation for the multinational event.
India star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been making headlines since BCCI announced the T20I and ODI squad for the Sri Lanka series. The World Cup-winning all-rounder is not in the Indian squad against the Island Nation and there are reports that he will most likely to miss the Champions Trophy 2025. Here are the five cricketers who will most likely to miss the marquee event.
Ravindra Jadeja
Sanju Samson
Yuzvendra Chahal
Ruturaj Gaikwad
Stylish batter Ruturaj Gaikwad recently featured in the T20I series against Zimbabwe where he earned massive praise for his impressive outings against Sikandar Raza & Co. but despite performing, the Asian Games Gold medallist was excluded from India's ODI and T20I squads for the Sri Lanka tour. This means Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill or Yashasvi Jaiswal will be India's first-choice openers for the Champions Trophy 2025.
