India captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the team's seven-wicket win against Pakistan to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, which was a terrorist attack on tourists by armed terrorists near Pahalgam in India's Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed on 22 April 2025.
Suryakumar Yadav, who finished the clash with a six, said that Team India stands by the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack and the side gives them more reasons on the ground to make them smile.
"Just wanted to say something. Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the victims of the families of Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all and we give them more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile" Suryakumar Yadav said in post match conference.
After the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Armed Forces started Operation Sindoor to counter the cross-border terrorism, where the Armed Forces killed over 100 terrorists in the precise strikes.
Coming back to the match, after being asked to bowl India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets to seal their berth for the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2025. Suryakumar Yadav was the highest run-getter for India playing an unbeaten 47-run knock against the neighbouring nation. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will now face Oman for their third Group Stage match, which will take place at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
