Chand lashed out at the unfair system in the USA team management.

Unmukt Chand reacted after being snubbed from the USA’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Canada ahead of the T20 World Cup. The 31-year-old blasted at the ‘unfair systems’ and urged for a healthy change in the USA team management.

"Irony of life- I keep hearing people cribbing about unfair systems in place and the need for healthy changes, but when the same people come to power, they practise the same unjust means too. It's high time we bring the change within ourselves and stand firm for what's right," Chand wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Former Blackcaps allrounder Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh were named in the 15-member squad.

The T20I series between the USA and Canada is slated to kick off on April 7 at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston. The remaining four T20I clashes will be played on April 9, April 10, April 12, and April 13.

The decision comes as a major setback for Chand, who announced his retirement from Indian cricket in August 2021 and shifted to the USA to play international cricket. He also played for different T20 leagues around the world, including the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Major League Cricket (MLC) and Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia.

The 2012 U19 World Cup-winning Indian captain was set to rule international cricket after slamming a stunning century in the final against Australia that led India to silverware but failed to break through.

He stands second on the run charts in the history of the Minor Cricket League (MiLC). He scored 1500 runs from 45 innings. However, despite performing well, his name was missing in the USA national team.
