Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield became the first player to be picked in the mini-auction for the second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) on December 9. Litchfield was roped in by Gujarat Giants (GG) for Rs 1 crore after a bidding war with UP Warriorz. Australian pacer Annabel Sutherland became the most expensive pick at Rs 2 crore.
Uncapped Indian players were under franchises' radar as well. Vrinda Dinesh was picked by UP Warriorz for Rs 1.3 crore. Later, Kashvee Gautam became the most expensive uncapped player at Rs 2 crore. The Giants roped in the tall pacer.
