The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) women's team achieved a feat that the men's team had failed to secure in the last 16 years. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets to win the Women's Premier League (WPL) competition on March 16 (Sunday). The RCB women's team got their hands on the glittering silverware in just the second edition of the competition.

Soon after RCB became the champions, congratulatory messages came flowing in from the corners and the franchise's men's team players joined the chorus with poster boy Virat Kohli leading the way.

Kohli joined the celebration through a video call. The Indian superstar was spotted speaking with Mandhana and congratulating her for the colossal achievement. Kohli also took to Instagram and shared a story to appreciate the effort and to celebrate the victory of RCB.

Kohli shared a picture of the RCB women's team and captioned it as "Superwomen".

AB de Villiers and others react

RCB legend AB de Villiers also took to X and congratulated the women's team. The South African superstar wrote "RCB" with claps, a gold medal and cup emojis.

RCB star Glenn Maxwell took to X and wrote "You beauty @RCBTweets".

RCB's wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik took to X and wrote "Aaarceeebeeee! What a fantastic performance! Congratulations to all our girls!"

Former RCB superstar Chris Gayle celebrated the women's team victory and he shared a congratulatory message on X.

"RCB-W champions of WPL. Congrats on an outstanding season. Finally Ee Sala Cup Namdu," Gayle wrote on X.Β
