Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has expressed his best wishes to Shikhar Dhawan following the latter's retirement from international and domestic cricket. Yuvraj shared a post on social media, highlighting the pleasure of sharing the dressing room with Dhawan during their time with the Indian national team.

Shikhar Dhawan officially announced his retirement on Saturday, August 24th. The left-handed batter had a successful career, representing India in 34 Tests, 267 ODIs, and 68 T20I matches. He amassed a total of 10,867 runs in international cricket, including 24 centuries and 55 half-centuries.

Yuvraj Singh shared a series of pictures with Shikhar Dhawan on X, expressing his admiration for Dhawan's fearless batting performances, particularly in ICC tournaments. Singh highlighted Dhawan's unwavering commitment and dedication, both on and off the field, throughout his career.
"Congrats on a fantastic career, Jatt Ji! Pleasure to have shared the dressing room with someone as lively as you! You’ve always made the most of every chance, giving more than 100% on and off the field," Yuvraj wrote.
"Your fearless knocks, especially in your favourite ICC tournaments and match-winning performances across all formats have made you the real “gabbar” that the oppositions feared!," he added.
Yuvraj Singh's Message to Shikhar Dhawan
Yuvraj Singh recognized Shikhar Dhawan's significant accomplishments and encouraged him to take pride in his career. Singh welcomed Dhawan to the next chapter of his life and invited him to participate in the World Championship of Legends, an event featuring retired cricketers.

Shikhar Dhawan's International Career and IPL Journey
Dhawan made his debut for India in a One-Day International (ODI) match against Australia in 2010. He continued to represent India in ODIs until 2022, when he last played against Bangladesh. Over his ODI career, Dhawan scored 6,793 runs in 167 matches, averaging 44.11 and hitting 17 centuries. He also made significant contributions in Test and T20I formats, scoring 2,315 runs in 34 Tests and 1,759 runs in 68 T20Is. Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket weeks before the IPL 2025 mega auction. Last season, he captained Punjab Kings, but his IPL career was interrupted by a shoulder injury that forced him to miss several matches in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Dhawan's IPL journey began with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008. He later played for Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and returned to Delhi Capitals. In the IPL 2022 auction, he was acquired by Punjab Kings.
